Welcome back! Well, it’s been a very busy week or so, so apologies for no updates and all that. Hope Taylor Swift‘s gorgeous face was enough to get you through that week. On the plus side, I’ve officially finished everything I had to do for my second last semester at uni. One to go, holy shiiiiiiiiiiiit. But let’s move on – after all, this isn’t about me, it’s about music videos! It’s about the Foo Fighters! It’s about the fact these guys don’t do anything by half measures!
Last time we were blogging about Dave Grohl and co., it was for the awesome double shot of White Limo and Rope – the former of which I maintain is a major contender for video of the year. Now, we’re back with yet another two brand new Fooeys videos, each from the excellent Wasting Light record. The first is Arlandria, which is an interesting one for the band in that it’s the first ever FF video in which the band themselves do not appear – not even Dave. The video was created by director Nicholas Spaventa, who won a This Video Sucks competition to make an official video for the song. For what it’s worth, I think he’s done a great job – the video is creative, well-paced and maintains that classic Foo Fighters style of not taking itself too seriously. Well worth a look.
Walk, which is the last song on the album, sees the band return to the White Limo style of playing several characters within the one clip. In this instance, Dave portrays a frustrated office worker in the middle of a bumper-to-bumper traffic jam who goes on a rampage – he beats up a store clerk, runs over a golfer with his own cart and even fends off some knife-wielding thugs. Clearly, you don’t mess with the Dave. Anyways, the Fooeys have yet another one-two punch of great video watching here, so be sure to check them out.
